Michelle Wolf Photography

About the Project:

Michelle Wolf was the photographer hired for my wedding. Her friend wanted to retire from maintaining websites and after a few talks she hired me to maintain and expand her site. She had some complaints with her site - for example she couldn't update the galleries herself. This led to her paying to have her pictures updated and was becoming very expensive. She absolutely loves flash much to my dismay. I believe flash has it's place and shouldn't be heavily used but it is what she wants. If she's happy them I'm happy! We have changed static pages to more flash content pages in her photo galleries that act as slideshows as well as flash digital brochures she uses for testimonials and price guides.

Tools Used:

  • All coding was done in Notepad++
  • HTML, CSS, Flash, and JavaScript
  • Photoshop for picture manipulation

Additional Information:

This is really the first site that was less focused on functionality and more and artsy content. I'm glad to get the exposure to other forms of design, as well as experience trying to clearly communicate with a photographer. They communicate ideas much differently than geeks! She asked me about copyrights and I was able to tell her about copyrighting her content and what that means legally. She was having problems with others stealing her content.
